Deputy National Chief Imam goes ‘home’-Vice President mourns

Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Kamal Deen Abdulai

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has announced the death of the Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Kamal Deen Abdulai which sad event happened Saturday morning.

He regretted the sudden incident and prayed the Almighty Allah grants the Sheikh who prior to his demise had contributed immensely to Islamic education in Ghana, Jannatul Firdaus.

Below are details of his Facebook post on the death;

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. As it is stated in the Holy Qur’an, indeed we are from Allah, and to Him we shall all return.

It is with a heavy heart that I learnt of the return of the Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Kamal Deen Abdulai to his Maker earlier today.

Sheikh Kamal Deen was undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable and revered Islamic scholars this country has had. He has contributed immensely to Islamic education in Ghana through the training of many teachers, as well as to national development as Deputy National Chief Imam through his unflinching support to his bosom friend, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

On my own behalf and on behalf of President Akufo-Addo and the Government of Ghana, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Sheikh Kamal Deen.

May the Almighty Allah grant our father Jannatul Firdaus.
