Mahama blew GHS35 million on a single trip to US – Daboussi jutifies Akufo-Addo’s huge budget

Passionate supporter of President Akufo-Addo and vitriolic critic of opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) has come to the staunch defense of President Akufo-Addo following criticism with regards to his spending of some GHS168 million on his presidency for the three quarters of this years, arguing that the President is making massive savings compared to what pertained under former President John Dramani Mahama.

Some Ghanaians have been critical of the President following revelations that the Office of the President spent about GHS168 million from January to September this year on its activities. The expenditure of over GHC 62 million on foreign travels has especially got tongues wagging.

But Mr Daboussi is of the opinion that the leakage of the document to the public( which he suspects has been done by NDC members) is an attempt to cast the Chief of Staff, Ms Akosua Frema Osei Pare, and the Presidency in bad light because of sour grapes — the NDC members were not allowed to unduly benefit from money meant for the presidency.

“It has come to my attention that a certain document purportedly leaked by an NDC criminal in the registry of parliament or one of the NDC parliamentarian fools that cannot spell their name right is making the rounds. It talks about a total expenditure of Jubilee House to the tune of 168 million Ghana Cedis. It is imperative to understand that other than the mischief intended to cause a barrage of defamatory posts and comments on the person of the Hon. Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare, this document seeks to malign the office of the President for not allowing stray dogs to get any of that to put in their pockets. They never would have gotten and no one would get!” Mr Daboussi indicated in a rejoinder on the expenditure of the Presidency.
