Mahama gave tax exemptions too|NPP Sympathizer

Following reports of tax exemptions granted Platinum Properties on the construction of an ultra modern hotel facility in the country and speculations surrounding it, party faithfuls have risen to its defense justifying the need for such waiver by the President.

PPL is reported to be a Special Purpose Vehicle owned and controlled by Inter-Afrique Holding Limited(IAHL) set up to put up the hotel facility called the Pullman Accra Airport City Hotel.

This tax waiver was met with a lot of resistance and controversy particularly since IAHL, is alledgedly owned by Dr. Kwame Nyantakyie-Owusu, one of President Akufo-Addo’s in-laws. Kwame Nyantakyi-Owusu is married to Regina, the younger sister of Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the President’s wife.

However, cirular, justifying such grants given under previous administrations of the John Mahama Government have equally emerged. it cites a list of institutions pencilled for tax exemptions including Dzata cement, purportedly belonging to Former President Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

Find below the post of NPP faithful, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah as he defends Platinum Properties’s tax waiver given;

“Fmr President Mahama gave tax exemptions and waivers to all these Ghanaian enterprises in 2015 and 2016, including Ibrahim Mahama’s Dzata Cement and the NDC is today making noise about exemption to an equally qualified Ghanaian company ?” he asked in his Facebook post on Monday.

Platinum Properties qualifies for exemptions just as all these companies qualified for.
