63rd Independence Day Parade To Be Held In Kumasi

Uncharacteristic of previous independence day celebrations normally held at the Black Star Square in Accra, this year’s anniversary celebration will for the first time be held in the regional Capital of the Ashanti Region, Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Chairman of the anniversary’s Planning Committee, Mr.Laud Commey, who disclosed this at the launch of the Committee said, the Independence Day celebration will be on the theme: “Consolidating Our Gains 63 years on”.

It is expected that the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley will be a special guest at the parade as the country marks its anniversary day celebration which comes off on Friday March 6 , 2020.



Addressing the media, Mr. Commey noted that considering the chosen venue of the event, the Baba Yara Sports stadium has been awarded for rehabilitation works to begin.
